Icon Button

Problem

Starting point for an IconButton proposal. Base is the current PDS v2 IconButton (the PDS v2 reference checkout, branch v2.x), copied so every existing option is available to build on. What changes is still to be defined. Likely sibling of the Button proposal (agentic treatment).

Existing API (all copied)

  • Variants (3): standard, reverse, critical
  • Sizes (3): xs, s, m
  • Agentic (new): isAgentic modifier (AI gradient replaces the border color; needs hasBorder), on the standard variant
  • Options: hasBorder, hasTooltip, disabled, isPressed + pressedIconName (toggle), icon2Name (animated swap), ariaLabel (required), buttonType
