Agent avatar
Problem
As a user, I need to know when an agent is the one doing an act or was responsible for doing something. I need a visual representation of the agent (avatar) that is not the same as a human's, so I know it immediately.
Where it shows up: activity logs, comment chats and threads, and similar places where people and agents appear side by side.
Proposal
Start from the PDS v2 Avatar (src/components/identity/Avatar, branch v2.x), renamed AgentAvatar (class pds-agent-avatar). Keeps only Avatar's sizes (xs to xl), link behavior and a11y. Treatment (from Erika's reference): circle, dark fill, lightning-bolt icon, AI-gradient ring. See decisions.md.
Constraints
- Distinguishable from a human avatar at a glance, at every size down to
xs(16px), in a list of mixed human and agent avatars. - Do not rely on color alone (a11y): the agent signal needs a shape or icon cue too, plus an accessible name that says it is an agent.
- Tokens only; light and dark.
- A human avatar (circle, image or per-user gradient) must never be mistaken for an agent, and the reverse.
Decided
- A purpose-built component, not a variant of
Avatar: circle only, one shared look for all agents.
